I installed Mac OS X 10.5.7 (Leopard) with Chameleon 2.0 r431, on my Intel xeon based PC. Everything worked fine until I followed this tutorial to get my Nvidia 8800 GT working: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=91755

I ran the final command to remove the NVinject file, and then rebooted. Now instead of booting into Chameleon, I get sent straight to Windows 7. I assume the problem is the missing NVinject file seeing as all the other instructions are boot.plist file based and I've resored those to their previous states in an attempt to solve this. The result is exactly the same. A black screen appears with the cursor blinking the same way it did when loading Chameleon, then suddenly it seems to abort (the cursor jumps up 2-3 lines to the top of the screen) and the next thing I know Window 7 is loading up.

Am I right in assuming that the NVinject file is the cause of all this? Or did something else happen? Can I restore it, and how would I go about doing that?

Please help. It would be greatly appreciated.

That tutorial is obsolete, even on 10.5.7. Did you do all of it?

Describe your partition and hard drive layout.

Retail or hacked distro? And where is Chameleon installed?

How did you restore files if you can't boot the system?

Removing NVInject.kext has nothing to do with your issue, it has to be something else.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I ran through the whole tutorial up to the part that tells 10.5.3 Intel users to reboot. I figured that applied to 10.5.3 or above. I had previously tried getting my Nvidia card to work using EFI Studio with no luck, which is why I was trying with this tutorial.

I restored the plist files through Macdrive 8 on Windows 7. Loaded the plists in Notepad ++ cleared them completely, and then saved.

The partition layout is as follows:

1TB HDD - Mac Os X (Itakos7) with Chameleon 2.0 R431 (That's NOT to be confused with the new RC4)
1TB HDD - Windows 7

OS X will not boot with a blank com.apple.Boot.plist.

I posted a default one here a while back. Use the search to find it.

Yes it will. In fact the default for Itakos is a completely blank com.apple.Boot.plist.
