SigmaTel 92HD71B Question APPLEHDA Taruga..
« on: December 13, 2009, 04:11:14 PM »
Hey guys,

back in 10.5 days I got stuck with a laptop that had a horrible and rare chipset SigmaTel 92HD71B and after a couple weeks Taruga (/bow) created a Applehda for me. I am not the smartest at audio and wondered if someone could point me to a tutorial or help me submit this for the voodoo project, or at least a way for me to get it up and running in Snow Leopard.

Happy Holidays to all! :)

I have the same chipset which is 92HD71B7X on my HP HDX. I have never had problem with getting sound working under Leopard and Snow Leopard.

On 10.5.8,

On 10.6.0,

You should install these kexts on System/Library/Extension. I like AppleHDA kext, which I believe have a better sound quality. The other this is that even tough I tried every VoodooHDA versions, none of them worked without a problem. I have never got volume control working with VoodooHDA. So these kexts will do fine.

Cheers,
