ALC268//feedback and report
« on: April 13, 2009, 07:53:32 AM »
tried on my ALC268 (HP-dv6500)

good: after weaking up, there are still sounds, but with noise.

bad: mic stoped working.

and I am having the common bugs people are having here, too. like needs to adjust PMC and so on.

please help me if you have the same chip, and you are smart to update the kext.

thanks again , to author and the people here, and the forum.

Also tried on my ALC268 (HP DV-6663cl) with the same results as joemulder, no mic working but two mics in the input option.

Question: I'm using Vanilla install and the VoodooHDA.kext at /Extra/Extensions did not work. So I had to install the kext using OSX86Tools. How can I use this with /Extra folder?

I'm using the driver on my acer aoa150 (alc268)
autoswitching of headphone works

what's not working:
mute (as in the pervious drivers i had installed)
int & ext mic (there are 2 inputs in the prefpane but none of them works)

i will test if the sound "sleeps" when running on batt (which is a very annoying thing to me)

Same problem that joemulder in Acer Aspire 4320 ALC268.

Used VoodooHDA.kext v 0.2.2

Works: Output, Internal Speakers, autosensing, mute
Not Works: Mic, PreferencesPane

Detected: SPDIF (Still No tested)

latest sources release (r8) are not in sync with the binary released on this forum? the prefpanel was working for me using the binary released here but no more recompiling latest sources taken on googlecode.
I can get ext mic working raising the volume in sound_mixer_reclevel (Tables.c) and recompiling.
No traces of int mic,it seem the driver expect for an autosensing event on the mic jack, but on mine 268 it don't autosense on Vista too.
How about the Hints in the Info.plist? it is explained anywhere how it works?

Hey as a workaround for remove the noise after sleep, the kextunload/kextload command works fine for me:

bash-3.2# kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext
kextunload: unload kext /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext succeeded
bash-3.2# kextload /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext
kextload: /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext loaded successfully

only the internal microphone is not working ...

Autosensing is not working for me on a HP DV6700, I have not been able to test the mic but everything else seems to be good as of 0.2.2 beta.
