A couple additions
« on: February 20, 2010, 02:42:50 AM »
1. Support for Intel G31/G41/G45 Chips (e.g. 4500 Mobile Graphics)
- Believe it or not, this has been made possible, although not in the main release.  Deviato has made this work by patching the boot file (stored in the root of the mac partition) with the 915Resolution Patch.

2. Support for BSD (No more blank icon)
- This has been implemented using a patch by nawcom, but again, it's not in the main release.

3. Solaris Support
- I have thought of installing Solaris on my system, but I do not believe that Chameleon currently recognizes it.  It would likely give a blank icon, but load if anything.
- This could probably be fixed by using a modified version of nawcom's BSD patch, but for Solaris

4. As an alternative to the BSD and Solaris support previously mentioned, it may be more practical to allow for some way to assign icons to specific partitions not given icons by default, sort of like an equivalent to adding a GRUB entry.

5. Mouse Support
- Pretty self-explanatory, just point and click the OS to boot.  I understand this likely won't be included in the next release, but perhaps at some point down the road...

6. A Shutdown Button
- Like on most OS login screens, an option to simply turn the machine off than proceed further.  Shouldn't be to complex.

7. OS X Installation DVD Support
- Implemented in Prasys' Empire EFI Boot CD, but I'd like to be able to simply boot the CD from a normal Chameleon install.

8. Animated Background Image
- Either a gif image or a video file (mpg, mp4?) that would look
- Similar to the type of background in Windows Vista DreamScene (Demo Video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Y8PADzTEDQ)

Some of these features already exist, just aren't in the standard release.  I do hope that these may be incorporated in the next Chameleon (RC5?).
