Chameleon detects HFS+ partition as "Linux"
« on: March 08, 2010, 09:30:23 AM »
Hello to all!
I've got a strange problem, I tried to find anything about it and I couldn't.

What's I have:
- 160 GB SATA HDD, partition scheme MBR, two partitions: NTFS (active) and HFS+.
HDD was partitioned under GParted Magic.
- Bootable Chameleon DVD, it boots fine.

When I boot from DVD, Chameleon shows me two choices: Windows and Linux. When choosing Linux, I see few strings of symbols and the system hangs.
Can anyone say, where is the trouble? Why does Chameleon detect the partition wrongly?
Thanks for any help, and sorry for my english.

You don't say what is on the HFS+ partition.  Did you get OSX installed there yet?  Chameleon looks for /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist and parses it for the OSX version.  If that's not there then it will not recognize the partition as an OSX partition.

Thanks a lot.
I've not yet installed OS X.
And one more question... Can I install iPC X-DL (LiveDVD) image on this partition? I've not got double layer recorder.
