Themes and com.apple.Boot.plist problem
« on: March 26, 2010, 06:35:22 PM »
Hi, I'm stuck!
So, I installed Leopard with Iaktos v7 which also installed chameleon rc2.
All fine and running well.
Then I read about themes and decide to install one.
I accessed my /extra folder through terminal and created a themes folder and added a theme I downloaded from Theme park.
I looked to find my com.apple.Boot.plist and can't see it anywhere. Not in /extra, not in /library/preferences.
Thought I'd give up but it appears the theme has installed and displays on boot.
So I want to hide some drives on startup but as i can't find com.apple.Boot.plist i can't do this.
Could it be anywhere else? Can chameleon boot without one?  Can I just copy the blank one from the FAQ into the /extra folder and edit it to change options (don't wanna try this before I ask as I may screw up the boot)

Thanks if anyone can help and apologies if there's an obvious answer to this!

In the docs, there is described where the plist could and should be.
If it, the plist, is not there then I wonder how chameleon is running.
Are you running chameleon or did you install another booter?

Also try this in the terminal

sudo find / -iname "*Boot.plist"

It gives you the place where you have one.
Quicksilver 2002 Case - GB EP45-DS3P - 8Gb Kingston mem. - Q6600 - Asus 7300GT Silent 512Mb - 6 SATA drives - 1 IDE drives ( using F12/Chameleon for booting, not visible in OSX ) - 1 external Sata Samsung DVD - OSX 10.6.8 server retail - Chameleon 2.0RC1 + Cartri Bios
