VoodooPowerMini v1.2.5 - Reported Lower Voltage
« on: March 22, 2010, 08:20:06 PM »
Hi Superhai

I was just doing some testing and I can report that when using VoodooPowerMini v1.2.5 in conjunction with VoodooMonitor and leaving my machine idling at the Finder,  I see the voltage drop down to 1.116V which is what I would see when running with my DSDT with coded C-states. Is this the result of the latest update?

Temperature wise, I notice a drop by 2 degrees from 46 degrees (when using v1.2.49) to 44 degrees, so this to good. For comparison when using my DSDT, I see the temperature drop to 39 degrees.

Thanks and regards

In idle the voltage should have been the same for both versions in theory, so that you see an difference is odd. But I did rewrite the whole calculation so it could have been a slight bug in the previous version. It does also a slight undervolting of the higher p-states, so it should run cooler during load, and could be the reason why you see a drop in temperature. I will probably add this as an modifiable option if it causes problems, and to let other users adjust it themselves.
