Hi guys,
I read ya Rockstedy! Almost two years of OSx86 to post a topic, i'd say crawling
Jokes aside, that's usually my way of working/doing things, whenever possible. Have to confess
my documenting skills have to improve, a lot but that's mostly due to lack of time.
I do use pen and paper a lot.
Will have to look at IOkit some were down the line.. i still don't have enough background to deal with it, still a very green apprentice
but, i took a look at Superhai's stuff long ago, more than one time. I owe him some feed back
damn time is never enough.
K64 is just fine man! So, after reading Superhai's post i checked the kernel.. the only stuff i have in it is cpu id, bcopy stuff for Pentium D (needed for emt64) and kext blacklist.. it can't get more "vanilla" than this. Anyway, i tried running -legacy, things get smother but if i poked it enough, the kp's still happen.
Then i read your "simplicity of simplicity" and "depend/revert to known-good kext(s)".. read my first post again and what's the first cause of problems i mention?! VoodooHDA.. yeah, removed the damn thing, plugged in my usb card and no more kp's
i don't know what's a kp since a bit after i read your post.
I still need VoodooHDA or some other solution because it's not practical for me to keep this usb
card always in use.. space problems and i remember now why i didn't used in a long time, there are some "pop pop" from time to time.. i suspect of the usb keyboard/mouse. That's another talk.. will try installing it to S/L/E; i remember some improvement on the kp's a time i did that, didn't connected the dots at that time. Things get to a tolerable state when i don't do these kind of testing, that's why i suspected of Chameleon too.
So, thanks guys... after all posting the topic was helpful.
