Transparent Login Box possible?
« on: April 29, 2010, 04:53:26 AM »
I have a feeling the answer is no, but is there any way to make the login box with the user name and pass word at start up transparent instead of white so that the wallpaper behind can be seen instead of blocked by a big white box?

Maybe you can try this app: http://cl.ly/jd1 It's for customizing the OS X login screen.

Looks like that app only allows you customize the things that appear in the login panel, but not the panel itself.  I'm hoping to make the panel itself in which the applelogo.tiff, user name, system build and version, user/host picture, etc transparent.  I can't even figure out where the resources for the login panel are located and whether the white box is a png or pdf image.  Very mysterious.

Hi aristizzle

This would require hacking the OS's resources either by hand or finding another application/script to help you. So your first assumption was correct in it has nothing to do with Chameleon.
