Problems with Chameleon on Clevo D900F - X58 - i7 - Setup
« on: July 31, 2010, 05:55:54 AM »
Hi all,

I am using iBoot and MultiBeast to install with a retail copy of 10.6.3 Installer DVD

I have a Clevo D900F - X58 - i7 Setup

It is running a desktop i7 CPU as a Laptop on a X58 Mobo

I got iboot to launch the 10.6.3 OS X Install DVD

I installed OS X successfully

Rebooted first time into OS X with iboot

Installed the 10.6.4 combo update

and tried to install Multibeast

Half way in the MultiBeast installation while I am still selecting the various options ... MultiBeast would just quit with an error message

So I ran MultiBeast again and try to install Chameleon

First install did not work out - Failed Installation

Second install did not work out either even with the same options selected - I only selected Disk Utilities and Chameleon

Third install finished successfully

I reboot without iBoot CD

Just before I see the Chameleon GUI Screen I see the following text error message -

SPD-DMI Mapper Conflict ... followed by some strange message ... this is only visible for 2 seconds before I see the Chameleon GUI Boot screen

I then see the Chameleon boot screen and my OS X installation

But when I try to run the OS X Installation from Chameleon, the boot screen just hangs with no Disk activity at all ...

All I see is the iBoot Red Apple Logo at the top of the screen and everything else is just black ...

Can someone please advice on what I did wrong ?
