Tried all the versions, same odd sound.
« on: September 13, 2010, 06:58:40 PM »
Hello there,
I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 on a Toshiba Satellite. It's soundcard model is Realtek ALC861.
VooodooHDA seems the only kext out there that can make my sound work. But it's not perfect!
The speakers (internal or external, headphones, whatever) are making a strange noise (crackles, bzzes) while playing offline/online songs or movies or any kind of sounds (even thoose from Yahoo alerts). I have tried all the versions available on the internet hoping that one of them will fit the best and hopefully make my sound work flawlessly.
I tried to reduce the Input / Output gain level ( I was told that this entry might be the cause ) but it doesn't seem to go away.

I attached the codec dumps (both of them -- i got 2 from linux), they might be useful to you.
I realy want to get it working. I can't imagine a laptop without sound ( or with this kind of sound ) -- it's hilarious.

Thank you in advance,
Alexander.
