No IDE drive if i boot from RC4 from HDD, works from IBoot CD

makes no sense to me
tried installing rc3 but could not boot at all
back to rc4

all drives show up in chameleon boot screen

tripple boot from retail disk 10.6 upgraded to 10.6.4 , win 7, ubuntu 10.04

have jmicron ata and sata kexts

p5q3 c2d
2gb ram

500 gb sata OS drive
1tb sata storage
1tb sata storage
200gb ide music drive

Your iboot CD can boot your OS X install because it has the right drivers on it.
Just installing Chameleon, fakesmc.kext and nothing else will only work on extremely compatible hardware.

Look inside the RAM disk image on your iBoot CD and copy the appropriate kernel extensions to /extra/extensions on the partition where Chameleon is installed.

It's very likely that the driver does not recognize the device ID of the IDE/ATA controller that connects your HDD.
1. make sure you have a kext for ATA controller,
2. find the device ID (VID:DID) of your ATA controller, (lspci -nn -v gives you listing that includes the info you'll need.)
3. make sure the device ID is listed in the info.plist of the kext.
4. if the device is is not in the info.plist, patch it in.
