Proper Xeon 1156 Cpu's detection
« on: November 21, 2010, 01:39:42 AM »
Hi all,

I'm looking to update the last chameleon trunk to have proper xeon 1156 detection. I have a Xeon X3440 2.53ghz cpu and this one is detected like a i7. I need to know which source files to update to build up a new build of chameleon with the xeon 1156 family added.

Here attached the cpu-z of my cpu.

Thank you in advance for your help!

;D Valv: It's surely a better idea! I used your branches many times before I decided to try the trunk version. I'll be certain that the xeon owners will be enjoyed by your proposition. ;D

Hey Valv,

I got a weird issue with the new rev of your branch:

If I boot without edited MacPro5,1 smbios.plist, my 1156 Xeon system is recognized as a Macbook Pro not as a Imac :-\

it boot with this setting, but unstable.

I understand for why all 1156 system is detected by default as a Imac11,x because it's same system architecture.

For 1156 systems, when detected as MacPro to give the possibility to have AppleGraphicManagement.kext functional when edited  properly for a supported pcie gpu. If I mod this kext to replace gfxo strings by the one of the macpro5,1 and I boot with Imac Smbios, the gpu gave me lower fps.

For now, I run my system stable with your Chameleon branch, fakesmc, NullCPuPowerManagement, MacPro5,1smbios, P55m-ud2 edited dsdt also with edited AppleGraphicsManagement.kext for my gtx275... This setup give me the maximum performance to date but the cpu powermanagement not work well.

The only thing, I looking for, it's to have OS X imac 11,x cpu scheme with the MacPro5,1 id enabled to use of AppleIntelCpuPowerManagement.kext for EIST, C-State, etc with gpu full normal performance.

If you an idea, let's me know!
