Default Partition Key Won't Work
« on: December 14, 2010, 01:53:20 PM »
Hey,
I'm trying to make my default boot partition my Windows 7 (System Reserved) Partition.

When I run diskutil list I get this
/dev/disk0
   #:                       TYPE NAME                    SIZE       IDENTIFIER
   0:      GUID_partition_scheme                        *1.0 TB     disk0
   1:                        EFI                         209.7 MB   disk0s1
   2:                  Apple_HFS SnowLeopard             350.0 GB   disk0s2
   3:                  Apple_HFS Other Mac               649.7 GB   disk0s3
/dev/disk1
   #:                       TYPE NAME                    SIZE       IDENTIFIER
   0:     FDisk_partition_scheme                        *1.0 TB     disk1
   1:               Windows_NTFS Windows XP             53.7 GB    disk1s1
   2:               Windows_NTFS Backup                 946.5 GB   disk1s5
/dev/disk2
   #:                       TYPE NAME                    SIZE       IDENTIFIER
   0:     FDisk_partition_scheme                        *1.5 TB     disk2
   1:               Windows_NTFS 1.5 TB                 1.5 TB     disk2s5
/dev/disk3
   #:                       TYPE NAME                    SIZE       IDENTIFIER
   0:     FDisk_partition_scheme                        *120.0 GB   disk3
   1:               Windows_NTFS System Reserved        104.9 MB   disk3s1
   2:               Windows_NTFS Windows 7              119.9 GB   disk3s2

I therefore put "<key>Default Partition</key>   <string>hd(3,1)</string>" into the com.apple.Boot.plist file but when I load Chameleon it still auto loads Snow Leopard. Anything I'm doing wrong.

BTW, I installed OSX via iBoot and MultiBeasts UserDSDT.

Don't use Disk Utility to determine the order of the drives, use Chameleon. You can see the correct drive order at the boot menu.
10.9.5 - ASUS P8Z77-V Pro - i5 3570K - GTX 660 - Chameleon 2.3 svn-r2xxx
How to...
Install Chameleon: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,649
Make your own Chameleon boot CD: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,484.msg2131.html#msg2131

My sys reserve partition is list 2nd by Chameleon (1st Partition, Second Disk). I add these parameters to the plist and it still boot Snow Leopard automatically (after the timeout). Any other thoughts.
