ALC888 (DFI X48-T2RS) + VoodooHDA on 10.6.5
« on: December 17, 2010, 04:48:26 PM »
Having finally got OS X to support my 4890 properly (haven't really used it since I dumped my 'easily supported' 9800 GX2 for a not-at-all-easily supported 4890 about a year and a half ago), I thought I'd have another go at using it as a day-to-day OS... Obviously, my X-Fi won't work but it seems my onboard ALC888 doesn't either :( I've installed Voodoo 2.7.2 and all I get is hiss out of all six (analogue) channels... Can't even make just the fronts work - I notice that Line-Out (rear) only appears as an option in the VoodooHDA control panel, not the usual Mac OS Sounds prefpane or Audio Midi Setup, where I only see Headphones (Green Front) which isn't connected to anything if it's labelled right!, SPDIF-Out (Yellow Rear), don't use digital and HDMI, which I'm guessing relates to the HDMI output on my 4890 which is connected to my monitor by DVI...

ANy idea how to get any analogue sound at all out of this system? I suppose I can live if its not 5.1!
