Question: How do we turn off memory detection? I would love to try that.
Try adding the following in to your /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist (I've never used this myself but I think it's the right boot option)..

Code: [Select]
<key>UseMemDetect</key>
<string>No</string>
10.10.5 / 10.11 GM1 | Asus Maximum IV Gene-Z | i7-2600 3.40GHz | 4GB | Radeon 5770 1GB

Thanks for the info BlackOSX,

I tried UseMemDetect and discovered it cannot be used at the Chameleon command line (at least it ignored it for me). But it does work when used in the com.apple.Boot.plist, as you instructed. This however did not resolve the issue, so I am willing to bet it is a slot detection issue in Chameleon that has to be addressed in order to solve the issue for all HP DVx laptops.

Mod edit: no need to quote consecutive posts.

Sorry Azimutz,

I didn't realize I was doing something wrong. I'm just posting as I do in any forum threads and trying to do as much work on my side rather than just say "theres a problem, fix it". Where should I be posting this information? Once I know what I'm doing wrong and how to do it right you can bet I will. I have visited and posted in the link you provided. I will just post there from now on about this issue.

Sorry for my ignorance on this subject.
