ATI 5xxx Support on Trunk

Hi Guys

Is there any way Kabyl's code for ATI support could be added to the trunk?
There are alot of noob users plumbing for ATI5xxx series GPUs and it would be great to be able to tell them to simply use the unofficial chameleon 2 RC5 installer and GraphicsEnabler.

Sorry for the new topic, I did search the forum and couldn't find a suitable slot for my request-et!

Older cards will not be supported, otherwise it would have been in trunk already.

I need to find some free time and work on keeping support for the pre-4000 series.

One of the possible solution is a module based bootloader as Meklort made.
One module with pre-4000 Radeon support, other one for new ATI card.

But trunk must be rebased.

I tried to implement this in my branch but without testing I can't make working solution.

Well I can say as much, Slice: your's didn't work for me. (Admittedly, it already failed on ACPIPatcher.dylib, but seeing as we're already complaining... )

Supporting pre-4000 and 5000 radeons in one single bootloader sounds like it is just a matter of diligently deciding when to do what. Definitely doable (I don't see why not).

+ 1 - I know that you guys are working on it but I'd love for the Kabyl coding to be in the trunk !
