[FEATURE REQ] Elantech Smartpad
« on: April 18, 2009, 07:43:46 AM »
Any plan on adding support for the elantech smartpad (found for example in asus eeepc) to voodoops2trackpad.kext ?
Would it be possible? The only thing i know is that a patch exists for the synaptics driver in linux kernel to extend its support to elantech touchpad.

Would be cool to have it supported as trackpad with configurable multi touch instead of sticking with the default configuration when using it as ps2 mouse.

 Thanks in advance.

Alex

+1  :)

It doesn't work with my eeepc 1000H if I install trackpad. And with ps2nub... I can't configure trackpad (sensitivity...)

Thanks.

if you have an eeepc 1000h you need to install the voodoops2controller.kext without trackpad support, otherwise  the smartpad won't be picked by  voodoops2mouse.kext.

If you remove any trace of ps2nub/appleps2controller and install voodoops2controller without trackpad driver you'll be fine.

Here you'll find the patch, however it has been integrated in the main kernel tree.

EDIT: here is the kernel commit: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=2a0bd75e5e687a9c34921e942c18477ea7ec2d63

I second the request, I'm using VoodooPS2 Controller on a 1000HE EEEPC and it would be great if I could disable Tap to click.

hey, I still have some problem with my elantech smartpad (I have 1000H). I removed Appleps2controller and acpips2nub, repaired permissions and cleared cache. Then installed Voodoops2controller.pkg without trackpad, reboot, it's fine, no problem.
When I reboot on my windows xp, it's fine, but when I come back to mac os, keyboard is fine and smartpad not. The cursor go to left side, and stay there, I have to use external mouse.
Can anyone help me, please ...
