Crackling sound voodoohda 2.7.2

(1/2) > >>

KHIT:
Hi
I have just installed Mac OS X 10.7 Lion DP4 on my HP laptop. I fixed sound with Voodoo HDA 2.7.2, but in some apps, the loud sounds from music or videos have a crackling sound in the background. My system is using IDT HD Audio.
I didn't have this problem on my previous hackintosh, which was running Leopard 10.5.8 also with Voodoo HDA, from the iATKOS v7 dvd, the sound card in the machine was Conexant HD Audio.

Hope someone can help me get rid of the crackling sound. For some reason it doesn't appear in iTunes, but it does in Quicktime, VLC Media Player, and Youtube.

Have you tried setting your sound to 44100Hz in the "Midi settings" (or whatever it was) app? It did the trick for me.

KHIT:
I can't find anything to set my midi settings to 44100Hz in System Preferences. Should I have installed VoodooHDA through the .pkg file available, instead of just the kext?

I have a similar problem, I have Asus P5P41C with ALC887 motherboard.

When the volume is high (e.g. in garage band) I can hear white noise perfectly clear, it's loud. And I noticed in VLC (and others) if I set volume higher there is noise and some crackling sound.. =(

Midi app is set to 44100 Hz and can't be changed though I don't know what 16-, 24-bit integer does!

Also I'm curious about SSe2 and noise reduction in voodoo settings, what do those make? (also enhance stereo, stereo base).
