from what I understand, the error is caused because the old VoodooPS2Controller.kext (.98) was modified in such a way so that Mac OS X would recognize the keyboard as a 102-key keyboard, not 101-key (which most people have). you can see if you are having the same cause of error by looking at the keyboard layout on the Keyboard Viewer (under the input menu in the menubar). if it shows the tilde key between LEFT SHIFT and 'z', then you are having this error.
the difference between the kext in the 'Debug' and 'Release' folder is that the kext in Debug logs the keypresses (i think the proper term in scancode) in /var/log/system.log, where 'Release' doesn't
BTW, this also added play/pause/forward/back music controls on my keyboard (I have an ASUS 1201PN) which I am really thankful for.
