Booting problem with chameleon and USB drive
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:28:37 PM »

I cannot successfully install in a USB drive (HD or flash) any chameleon 2.0 build after RC1-r431. I have tried to manual install chameleon RC2-r640, RC3-r658, RC4-r684 and r1394 (I'm using the compiled binaries from buildbot).
The result is always the same: in text only mode (no GUI) I can load chameleon and I can type commands at the "boot:" command line, however chameleon doesn't find any bootable disks. In GUI mode, after loading the bios, I see a spinning cursor for a few seconds an the screen goes black.
If I use chameleon 2.0 RC1-r431 it works in text or GUI mode and I can choose a bootable OS X disk. In this case I'm still unable to install OS X because I get a kernell panic (probably due to the lack of kext).

I have also tried to use several different packages to create the install disk but I always get the same problem with chameleon.

To install chameleon in the USB drive (I have tried with a HD and several flash drives - GPT and MBR) I have used a mac-min (core duo) and a powerbook G4 (both running 10.5.8 ).

This is my first hackintosh and I don't know what else to try so I will appreciate any help I can get.  :-\

Intel core 2 duo E6750 2.66GHz
Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2 rev1.3 (bios F6)
4 GB RAM
Gigabyte GeForce 210 - 512 MB

You might want to try to reset the bios to default values. If you are free enough, could you take pictures of all the settings you have in your bios as it could help. Not too sure but it could be the cause.
