2nd Battery Detects as AC Power
« on: November 16, 2011, 01:50:20 AM »
Using Snow Leopard on a Lenovo Thinkpad T510-4313 with VoodooBattery.kext from here:
http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=1982

When using a 2nd battery ("slice" battery, see here: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/shop-by-brand/p-57y4545.shtml), the system detects that the computer is connected to AC power, instead of using battery power. So Energy Saver and like settings operate as if the computer was plugged in.

Both batteries are detected and will charge in OSX. When the computer is unplugged from AC, the slice battery is used first and must be disconnected to switch to using the internal battery.

It would be better if the computer would read that it's on battery power when using the slice battery so the computer can conserve energy and use battery mode settings. (also would be nice if it could switch batteries automatically when the slice battery is drained, but I don't want to ask for too much!)

Thanks for any help you can give with this issue.
