Rather than installing Chameleon 2 onto an existing setup, I am setting out a new layout so I have more freedom of choice.
Requirements are
Working off 2 identical HDs
MacOS as main OS software mirrored
Vista 64 (mainly to watch BluRay). Doesnt need to be mirrored because it rots so quickly anyway
MacOS 2 for fixing MacOS (because I like to play)
I propose
disk0s GUID label
disk0s1 EFI - with chamelion installed as putting it in the mirror may be flakey. including a usable stable /Extra/Extensions
disk0s2 Vista64 - single partition installation. Can't do much damage here (like writing ntldr where it wasn't wanted)
disk0s3 MacOS - Mirror 1 of main MacOS system. Including latest maybe unstable /Extra/Extensions
disk0s4 Data - Stripe 1, Odd stripes
disk1s GUID label
disk1s1 EFI - with chamelion installed as putting it in the mirror may be flakey. including a usable stable /Extra/Extensions
disk1s2 MacOS_B - including latest stable /Extra/Extensions. For when I've broken MacOS
disk1s3 MacOS - Mirror 2 of main MacOS system. Including latest maybe unstable /Extra/Extensions
disk1s4 Data - Stripe2, Even stripes
first use using existing custom boot_132 disk and MacOS install DVD to partition the disks and set up Apple Raid and HFS+ partitions
then install Vista64
then install MacOS_B using boot_132 disk
then install MacOS using boot_132 disk
then boot MacOS_B using boot_132 disk and use it to configure Chameleon 2 including /Volumes/MacOS/Extra
and then hopefully boot MacOS
Any comments, particularly pointing out why this isn't going to work, or what might be more stable, greatly appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation
