Hanging on mDNSresponder
« on: April 30, 2009, 03:14:35 AM »
Background:
System is thinkpad R60; dualcore Intel , GMA 950 graphics
Used to use Munky's EFI boot method, with all KEXTS in EFI partition, except sound

Now, trying new Chameleon RC2:
Installed fresh,
put dsmos and Disabler in S/L/E (will be moving to /Extra now that I know how to build MKEXT)
It hangs after multiple lines about mDNSresponder

Anything obvious I'm missing?
I'm gonna try:
Making sure it's loading both LAN and WLAN kexts
Voodoo kernel
SMBIOS
DSDT

Thanks for any help.

OK, already figured this out.  But how I figured it out may help others:

The problem seemed to be, because I was installing KEXTs from a desktop Mac onto the laptop HDD via a USB HDD interface, it was accessing the usb HDD ignoring ownership.  This caused almost all mkext building to fail.
Fix is by getting info (ctrl i) on usb HDD, then de-checking ignore ownerships.
This allowed my KEXTs to operate properly, which seemed to be the only problem.   :D
