Sound fine after reboot but degrades to noise after about 24 hours

I am using AD2000B on an Asus P5Q3 del wifi.

This works brilliantly after a fresh reboot and for several hours, but by the next day the sound will have degraded to be largely noise.

It doesn't seem to get gradually worse.  Its either fine,  or terrible.
