com.apple.Boot.plist not loaded
« on: July 01, 2009, 07:57:42 PM »
Hello,

I'm a new user of Chameleon 2.0RC1.
I'm using EFI system partition booting support after retail installation.

The problem is that I think chameleon booter is not loading my "Extra/com.apple.boot.plist"
This conclusion comes from the fact that the mach_kernel.voodoo is not loaded, unless I manually type:
Code: [Select]
bt(0, 0)/mach_kernel.voodoo busratio=20in the boot command line.

I read around about a file called Boot.plist, is this the same as com.apple.Boot.plist? If so whats the recommended name?

Thanks.

com.apple.Boot.plist

If you have "boot" instead of "Boot", as you wrote above, it will not work.
In your case, Extra must be on the EFI partition too.

Hi, thanks for answer.

The file name was correct "com.apple.Boot.plist"

Apparently the plist is loaded from EFI partition, but the kernel.voodoo was not loaded.
I cannot reproduce the problem right now, becuase I upgraded to 10.5.7 and I'm using vanilla kernel right now.
With mach_kernel (vanilla) in root of "Macintosh HD" the chameleon work like a charm.
