Can't boot into Mac OS X after Windows Startup Repair
« on: May 14, 2009, 12:39:55 AM »
Hi guys, I had to run Windows Vista Starup repair recently and I've lost the Chameleon bootloader.

I've tried setting my Mac OS X partition to active - the computer just keeps restarting so I have to set the Vista partition as the active one.

I've also tried booting up in single user mode and typed the following commands:

fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0
dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2

One strange thing is when I boot off the Mac OS X Leopard installation CD, I am unable to mount my HFS+ partition as it shows up as an NTFS - GParted and diskpart tells me that it's HFS+

fkim,

When you are booted into single user mode, type:

fstyp /dev/disk0s2

This will help confirm what OSX sees the partition fs as.
