[Theme] Blackosx_BIG (Now with added un-squashed files)
« on: April 08, 2009, 09:22:25 AM »
This is another attempt to discover the possibilities of the Chameleon Bootloader.
Thanks to fassl for help with this.
Feel free to change and improve it as you see fit.

EDIT
I use 1680x1050 but when I designed this my setup only allowed Chameleon to see 1280x1024, so my files are squashed to 1280x1024 and the booter stretches them to fit, so I am not sure how it will look at other resolutions.

EDIT 2
I have now attached the original sized background and device icons for 1680x1050 as this theme was originally designed for, without them squashed.

EDIT 3
I have now attached the background and device icons for 1920x1080, so that's for a 16:9 screen ratio.

I dont think i care much for the icons themselves, but the idea is pretty awesome. Great work!
You inspire me to think outside the box. I'm probably going to start another theme today :D

Thanks NoSmokingBandit.
If my ideas inspire others then that's mission accomplished for me.
I look forward to seeing your next creation. :)

Hi james341

Yeah, I guess it'll be too large. What screen resolution are you running at?
Let me know and I'll see if I can resize it. The graphics can be resized no problems, but I won' t be able to test the position of each element. so it still might look wrong. But if you're prepared to edit the theme.plist file, then you can reposition elements yourself?

Okay, thanks for the details.
Well let's use this as a starting point. Have you tried that theme? and how does it look on your system?

Also I have attached 2 PNG files for you test with. One is 1024x576 and the other is 800x600.
When viewed you will see a square in the middle of the screen. Let me know which one views correctly when you boot.

Re: need to know s10e boot resolution
by SilverZero » Wed Apr 15, 2009 11:27 am

Did some searching, and I can't find any info about determining a BIOS or boot resolution. My gut tells me it would be the standard VGA resolution, 640x480. The other obvious choice would be the screen's native res, 1024x576. If I were trying to find the answer, I'd look up a guide on how to change the bootsplash logo (the logo that sometimes comes up when the BIOS is starting up, instead of the printout of all the POST info). If you can find out what the image is, you could find the dimensions of it, confirm that it's not stretched or squished when it displays on-screen, and then you'd know. So, if you found the bootsplash for your S10e and it's 640x480 natively and shows up correctly on-screen, your boot res is 640x480.

But that would be strange, since everything boots correctly on the widescreen display. It might be a 640x480 image that is squished to whatever the BIOS resolution is, so it's actually made as a stretched image that squishes to the right proportions. Sheesh! I just don't know!  "

i will search what this guy told....

Can you take a photograph of your boot screen using the 800x600 one and upload it?
