Dual boot (Leopard & Windows 7 RC) question
« on: June 01, 2009, 02:12:04 AM »
Background info:
disk0: 1 GUID partition.  OS X retail installed there & working.
disk1: 1 MBR partition. Win 7 RC installed there & working.

I can boot to leopard by setting the BIOS to disk0 and it boots via Chameleon 2 RC.  I can only boot to the Win7 volume by changing the boot order in the BIOS to have disk1 come first.  Could this be related to disk1 being MBR instead of GUID?  If so, I'll reinstall Win7.

Oddly enough, I can multi-boot just fine using Chameleon 2 RC installed on a USB stick.  I get options to boot OS X, Win7, the win7 system partition (ugh!) and my external USB drive (ugh!).  The USB stick is GUID formatted.

I'm puzzled and have read extensively here and insanelymac.  Any tips?

try this one..
edit /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist and add following key & string value:

Code: [Select]
<key>Default Partition</key>
<string>hd(1,1)</string>
<key>Instant Menu</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>10</string>

I think Chameleon2 boot menu will autoselect your Win7 to boot, and press any key to boot another.

or you can use Grub4Dos Bootmanager.
