Need help with VoodooHDA 2.2 w/PrefPane
« on: June 01, 2009, 07:31:46 AM »
Hi all,

My mobo. is ASUS IPIBL-LB (HP m9450f computer), ICH9 Chipset, with ALC888S/T.

VoodooHDA 0.2.1 and 0.2.2 will give me a sound icon on the menu bar, but no sound regardless of which input type I selected.  In addition, when click on different system sound (attempt to see if they get play) for a couple times (prob. some where around a min, my screen will start flashing when I click to play the system sound)

VoodooHDA 0.2.2 w/ PrefPane, will give me sound.  But after 1-3, the of playing audio (i.e. from youTube), the sound will get degraded (i.e. a normal human voice will gradually becomes like a robot).  In that case, even the system sound (i.e. pressing a button) will get distorted too.

In both cases, I just DLed the precompile kext.  I did not compile my own. (AppleHDA was removed b4 using voodooHDA)

Can idea how to fix this?  Enclose is the codec dump.

Have you checked /Applications/Utilities/Audio & Midi Setup.app

Make sure that output is not 24bit. I changed mine to 16bit and 44.1KHz, don't know if you need to change KHz value.

This got my VIA HDA 1708B working well. (PS, you need to change the inputs and digital values too).
