Hi gdg444

Well done for spending time resizing and playing with the theme to make it fit your display :)

As for changing the names of your devices shown in the GUI, that's down to either you changing them names of the drives yourself via the OS, or wait for RC5 (or have a look around for a pre-release build of RC5) as the kind chap by the name of Rekursor added a 'Rename Partition' boot option to do exactly that.

Finally, a device selection with only one circle?.. No there isn't but if you wait I'll post one  ;D
Here you go

Thank you.....

Maybe I was not clear about the Text, I know I can change the name inside of OS X to anything I wish and then go into Windows 7 and do the same for the windows partition, that's not the issue.

I have it set so the progress bar gives me 15 seconds to:"Press Any Key To Enter Start Up Options"

What I'm seeing is:

PressAnyKeyToEnterStartUPOptions  with no spaces between the words.

Same thing when I rename Snow Leopards partition to Mac OS X inside of Snow Leapard, I'm seeing MacOSX with no spacing.

Anytime I have more than one word I get no spacing between words on the start up screen with this theme. I thought maybe you designed it that way?

Is there a way to correct this, or just lose the text altogether?

Thanks for the words of encouragement, it did take me a long time to figure out how to "tweak this" and make it fit but I loved it so much I was not going to give up. 8)

P.S. I cannot believe how good my dual boot system is running with 10.6.4, I'm just totally thrilled about this.

Oops.. my mistake..(sorry 'bout that).

Well the theme font's can be a bit hit and miss, especially when it comes to using them on at different resolutions. All I can suggest it try using the original font files that are shipped with the default theme, or maybe making your own with Cizko's font maker?

As for the words of encouragement, you're welcome.. It's only by trying these things that you learn.. And now you have gone to the effort of working out how to adjust a theme you should now be able to do the same for other themes.

Finally, I too have a dual boot system which is running well and it makes it a pleasure to use. :)

"the original font files"

Sorry to ask, but where are the original font files located?

I do not see anything in all the elements in the folder pertaining to fonts or text, and the only thing I see in the .plist file is something about text margins?

I'll only have to learn this once, then I'm good  :-\

No problem..
Download the Default.zip from the default theme thread and unzip it.. In the folder you'll find font_console.png and font_small.png.

Thanks, that worked great now everything has the spacing it should using the defaults.

Problem is I loved the font you chose for the theme, do you remember what the name of the font was, maybe I can just
re size. I have been messing with the font maker that had in your link, what a great tool. It'll take me forever to find that font with so many to choose from on that site.

At least the default font works as you wanted.

But the font I used? I can't remember as it was nearly a year ago that I created this theme. It was made by hand and not with Cizko's font maker so I don't know if you will ever find that font on there..

If I get round to locating the original files for this theme I'll see if I have reference to which font I used.

Blackosx, In keeping with your theme, this is my simple Final Cut Pro wallpaper that I'm booting into using your background. Took five minutes in Photoshop just added a couple of images.

I'm attempting to place the Final Cut Pro logo on to a Hard Drive icon, but I cannot find the Icon of the hard drives in OS X. Found all the other icons, just not the drive icon.

Downloaded some from this site from other themes but they are too small for me to really work with. I'm just assuming I should use a displacement map in Photoshop, not really sure how to get that wrap around effect yet on a drive, first thing is to locate the large icon of the drive in OS X.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Hi gdg444

Well done with creating your own wallpaper..

As for the actual OS X HDD icon, I guess it's buried deep inside the system's resources somewhere but you can always use a screengrab from your own machine? or maybe this image from here?

I have had a quick play for you and although it might not be exactly what you want, it might be something you could use?

But we have deviated off topic a bit here don't you think?

Well I found my original archive of this theme and I did use Cizko's fontmaker for the font, but coloured it up in photoshop afterwards.
The font was Monoglyceride DemiBold as can be seen in the screenshot (attached below) that I took when I did the theme.

Okay. Have a good search through as most questions have been asked and answered before. See you around  ;D

Perfect!

I made several sizes to test, thinking as soon as I hit 18pt (original) it would all just run together again with no spacing.

Not the case, 18/16/14/12 all worked great with spacing between words.
Just to be sure I downloaded the Theme again and dropped original back in, then no spacing. Had to be something you tweaked in Photoshop, It looks like you added a gradient and maybe made the text 3D could be that's what was making my system not play nice with you original.

Anyway, theme is now happy with the font that was intended for it. :)

Thank you for all your time, you have been very helpful.

Thanks for the note. I'll have to add this theme back in to my system to check it at my end.

Blackosx, if you get some free time, can you re-size this theme for a resolution of 1900x1200? Thanks and keep up the great work.
