[FR] Remove 'my data' from boot option in Chameleon
« on: September 27, 2009, 02:50:06 PM »
Hello, I'm french, so excuse me for my english !!!

I have an Asus eeePC 1oooh with DualBoot WinXP / Mac OSx.
But I have 3 partitions on my HDD.

--> 1st, Win XP [NTFS]
--> 2nd, My data ( music, pictures... ) [NTFS]
--> 3rd, Mac OSx [HFS+]

So, when I boot on Chameleon, I can choose between this 3 partitions but My data isn't a bootable one!

Can I remove this one from the bootloader?
How can I do?

Excuse me again for my english and thanks a lot for those who can help me !

Chameleon can't read the NTFS so it doesn't know if it's bootable or not. Therefore, all NTFS partitions are shown.

Ok! Thanks for this answer.

So, I have a new question !

Can Chameleon read if a partition is bootable or not?
You said all NTFS partitions are shown, so I think perhaps if my partition 'My data' is FAT32, Chameleon can read that one isn't bootable.

Do you understand? I don't know if my question is clear! In french, it's more easy for me! ;-)

Second question:
Are you the GREAT, the ONE Blackosx ?

Chameleon can ONLY read HFS+ partitions and distinguish the difference between a partition with an OS X system on it or not. So I think I am right in saying that any other file system used, including FAT32, will show in the device list regardless of what's on them.

Yes, I am blackosx and thanks but I don't consider myself to be great in anyway and I am just doing what I can to help others. I think the great ones are all the previous contributors who have helped OSX86 to grow to what it is today, the developers of Chameleon and anyone involved in the OSX community as a whole. This hackintosh concept started a long time before I got involved and I, like you, need the help of the community too..

I said that because I saw Blackosx in a lot of discussions, topics...
So, for me, newbie, you're THE Blackosx! ;-)
For sure, there's a great community involved in this project but you are the first I'm talking with!!!

Like my other post, I don't know if you understand me because, I'm not very good in English ! ;-)

Thanks for my english! And your french is good too!

I've found a solution.
I made 'my data' bootable with Windows boot, so...

1st partition boot on Windows XP,
2nd partition boot on Ubuntu with Wubi,
3rd partition boot on Mac OSx.

It's better like that !

Thanks again for your help
