MSI Wind Install problems
« on: October 19, 2009, 07:20:48 AM »
Hello,

I am having a problem getting SL to install on a MSI Wind netbook with Chameleon.  I have built chameleon but not aying it is right.  When I load and select the SL disk to boot into, it starts to load but when it gets to the System Uptime in nanoseconds I get the dark screen that says you need to restart your computer.

I followed the instructions in the docs area to the best of my abilities.  I am using the latest Chameleon release from the web site.  Can anyone suggest what I might have done wrong or what the problem could be.

   Thanks!

Mike

google 'osx wind', there's like a ton of guides for it already.

I have and followed one of those guides to this problem I am having.  From everything I have read snow leopard should be an easy install.  I am thinking my problem is in how I built the Chameleon options.  It also seems the main place that has all the info miswind.net forums is no more.

When I first boot into the install the first line says it is an unsupported CPU but it keeps going just a bit further.  So maybe I have not setup something correctly to fake the CPU model?

Chameleon does not have that functionality yet, it was added by an outside contributor and will be available in the next release.

Google "Atom OSX Unsupported CPU"

afaik, this is an issue with the slimming of appleintelcpu and unfortunately no source available (had my head buried in work so have not been osx86'ing, about to get back to it...). atm you can simply add disabler and sleepenabler kext to get functional.
