Windows 7 and Ubuntu Question
« on: October 30, 2009, 08:06:33 AM »
Ok so I had a hackintosh booting Snow Leopard on my Dell e1705 with Chameleon.  Besides having to turn off the speed step in my bios and no possible solution for getting my wireless working I loved it.  But I now went to a dual boot of Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10 via Grub. I hate Grub and I'm wondering if its possible to get Chameleon again.
I've read through some posts here and see that booting two Window OS's seems a bit impossible but I didn't find much for Windows 7 and Ubuntu. Can anyone let me know if its possible or maybe i should just stfu and use grub?

I have a similar problem, Chameleon 2.0-RC3 does not see Ubuntu 9.10 (grub 1.97 beta, and fs ext4),

what could be the problem?

Chameleon can not be friends with ext4?

Make sure you install GRUB to the Linux partition, and it will work

entering this does work.
Type sudo grub-install /dev/sda3 – replace /dev/sda3 with the correct entry for your system.

if you have osx on one drive and windows7 (part1) and ubuntu (part2) on another drive, I get grub errors when trying to boot win7 in vmware.

any idea how to fix the grub error when booting in vmware without breaking the regular booting?
