No Sound on speakers Dell XPS M1330 - Snow Leopard 10.6.2
« on: November 13, 2009, 03:35:44 PM »
Installed SL  on M1330 using Apple SL retail  - up & running fine except for sound from internal speakers.
Sound is OK from both front headphone jacks. Pref pane shows "Speaker Analog", "headphone","Digital ",

Used VooDooHDA.kext (tried all versions including latest) in S/L/E - repaired permissions etc.etc., tried with/without AppleHDA.kext, kextstat shows kext has loaded ok. All other hardware is working fine except shutdown/restart/sleep which are known issues. Runs in 32 & 64 bit mode - same result
Not using DSDT file. tried that with DSDT patcher- same result. Have tried VooDooHDA.kext in Extra/Extensions and still no sound. Is there a way to check/modify kext to get spkrs working? have heard of "pins" - can these be re-assigned/modified? Is there a bug in this?

My hardware - XPS M1330, T7250 C2D, 3GB ram, Nvidia 8400 graphics,Sigmatel 9228, 400gb hd,led display

I have another m1330 which dual boots W7 & Leopard - sound works perfectly, tried audio kexts from Leopard but get KP - Any ideas?

Looks like you have non-working STAC9228.
