RC3: Cannot find mach_kernel -- The root cause on my PC

(1/1)

xixixihaha:
Hi,
I used the RC3 to boot the 10.6.2 without issue.
After formating one of my partition from NTFS to Mac OS extended (Journaled), I ran into can't find mach_kernel issue. I tried to reinstall RC3, replace new mach_kernel. Finally, I decided to reformat the data partition back to NTFS. After that, my 10.6.2 boot into 10.6.2 without any issue.

BTW: I tried to add the following item into the /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist
<key>Default Partitition</key>
<string>hd(0,1)</string>

without success

erwinweber:
I have the exact same problem on my iATKOS L2(10.7.2)

erwinweber:
Solved: I formated the second partition in ExFat, booting perfect now.

Gringo Vermelho:
RC3 is more than three years old (September 2009), if you want to use it that's your choice, but don't expect anyone to fix any bugs you find in it.

Not a bug. That happens because RC3 did not support partition hiding!

If you want help or if you want to post bug reports, please upgrade to Chameleon 2.2 first.
