VoodooHDA and MSI Wind
« on: November 30, 2009, 09:44:55 AM »
If you have an MSI Wind with Mac OSX installed you guys know the microphone doesn't work...

Well I installed VoodooHDA and tinkered around with the System Preferences... and in Sound settings I checked at the Input tab and there was four options which were

1. For speakers (to act as microphone)
2. Microphone (built-in microphone)
3. Input Mix (This is basically the volume control so if you want to hear yourself talking on the microphone try this out)
4. Microphone 2 (Guessing it's the Microphone jack)

OK after tinkering around the mic was working well not exactly working but when I say something on the mic it plays on the speakers....

To test this out

Put Input Mix up, Microphone up and try it out.... just start talking and also the volume has to be up

Problem is it doesn't work with the programs for some reason.... only get Analog PCM option with all my programs.... can anybody fix this?

Tried out the speakers option and well with Audacity it has this kinda wierd noise and I played a song and it played really low in Audacity when I played the recording

Try it out if you don't understand what I'm trying to say

This is ONE STEP FORWARD TO getting the MIC WORKING!

OH and um Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.8
