Title: To the Blackhole
Post by: mcaveman on February 19, 2011, 04:50:59 AM
Hi all!
at the beginning sorry for my English (writing by the translator)
I have a problem with sound on my motherboard.
I use the kext : VoodooHDA-0.2.2    VoodooHDA-0.2.2wprefpane
sound is very quiet and when I increase volume in prefpane, hear the noise.
please help.

specification of the computer:

Leopard Snow (iATKOS S3) 10.6.4 (32bit)
Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H (rev. 1.1)
Athlon II x64 6000+
Chipset AMD 785G/SB710
4GB DDR2 800MHz
XFX GeForce 8600 gt Fatal1ty 256MB
Realtek ALC889A codec
LAN Realtek 8111C
SATA 500GB + 1TB

You successfully installed iAtkos S3 on this setup?  I could install but not boot so I gave up. Any hints?  The only difference I have is a Phenom II x4 and an ATI graphics card.  On boot I kept getting restarts.

I moved this to the black hole because it is not about voodoohda.  That said ATI graphics cards usually require some special handling to get working.  Mine worked when I compiled the trunk before the current release but doesn't work with it now.  Netkas.org has some of the best info on getting ATI cards to work and usually has a boot file you can download.
