Hi everyone
I'm really happy with Chameleon 2 - GUI, Sleep and wake from sleep, etc work a treat.
One thing I discovered today though is that Parallels won't launch a virtual machine when the machine has been booted with Chameleon 2 RC1 but it will when Chameleon 1 has booted the machine.
Parallels complains about VTX not being turned on in bios.

I have the same problem with iATKOS v7.
I downloaded the latest version of Parallels Desktop (version 4.0.3844.408728) and install it. When I try to install Windows give me kernel panic. This also happen with VMWare Fusion v2.0.5. But none of this happen with Virtual Box. As far as I know Parallels and VMWare can run only if the processor support VT-x technology natively (I enabled it in BIOS) and Virtual Box use software emulation.
IMHO, 9.7.0 Voodoo Kernel doesn't recognize VT-x enabled in BIOS because with iATKOS 10.5.4 and iPC 10.5.6 ppf5 all Virtual Machine software run smoothly which at respective install I chose 9.5.0 Vodoo Kernel.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

anyone?

GTRAIN,
I really don't see how Chameleon could disable VT-x, it might be some other checks.
LetterX,
This isn't an iATKOS support forum, and there is no final 9.7.0 Voodoo kernel, please report these issues at the relevant places.

Well, I never get KP in my desktop except that one. Since it says contact voodoo software with a photo...., here I am. The kernel option in iATKOS v7 installer show 9.5.0 and 9.7.0 Voodoo Kernel.
I'm not sure which kernel its used or there's a modification in it but my guess is Voodoo 2 alpha X.
Darwin Kernel Version 9.7.0; Sat May 16 12:00:42 AST 2009; Based on Voodoo :xnu1228.12.14/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386
Anyway, I solved the problem thanks to your "...there is no final 9.7.0 Voodoo Kernel.." answer. I download Voodoo_Kernel_Release_1.0_Rev_A.dmg and install it. Reboot with -v show no problem. Now Parallels Desktop can run my Windows XP VM. ;)
I'm not tech savvy but this could be an issue in Voodoo 2 release (if 9.7.0 kernel above using it and iATKOS team don't modify it).

Again it's not the right place;
"Darwin Kernel Version 9.7.0; Sat May 16 12:00:42 AST 2009; Based on Voodoo :xnu1228.12.14/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386"

Just confirming that it's not caused by Chameleon - Parallels 4 has always worked for me with both Chameleon 2.0 RC1 and RC2. I'm using the vanilla kernel on a VT-x capable Core 2 Duo E8500 CPU.
Parallels 3 doesn't require VT-x so that's an option for people who can't or don't want to change their kernel.
