Title: No volume control and mute

HP dv5 Mac OS Leopard 10.5.8

There is a problem with volume control. Kext can't determine minDb and maxDb of my sound card. Please help.

Same here on an HP HDX 18:

OSX 10.5.7

Volume control and mute (software slider and actual hardware controls) show reaction in OSD, but do nothing. Only application controls, eg itunes actually change the volume at all.

I have the same chipset. Try this kext which I used for a very long time on my HDX 16.
