Title: chameleon not booting
Post by: oarmas on August 26, 2009, 04:19:24 AM
Hi, I installed chameleon 2 rc2-640 on a ideneb 5.8(updated from kalyway) pc. My problem is that when I rebooted, instead of chameleon gui my system boots with a set of strange characters.
I installed Chameleon on the same hard disk where ideneb lives.

So my question is, how can I fix? Or how can I reinstall the previous loader I had (kalyways default, I guess efi based).

Regards,

Omar

How did you install?

I used the installable package Chameleon-2.0-RC2-r640.pkg, used the default options and installed it in the disk my system lives.
Hope you can help me.

It seems the Installer pkg has issues, you can grab the binaries and follow the README for a manual install.

Make sure you use the modified fdisk (included in the binary tarball).

I have the same problem however I don't have another system to rectify it other than Windows, what can I do?

Really bummed out since I transferred my system from my old iMac and really don't want to lose it!

Connect the hard drive to a Mac or another Hackintosh and install Chameleon on it manually, following the readme.

Be careful and don't install it on the wrong drive!
