Title: Dell E520, 10.6, 1TB Sata and only Boot from DVD and not direct from HDD :(((

Hi,

after 5 Days of testing, reading from over 100 Post in endless Forums i don't know what else to try.

I have installed SL TO MY 1 TB HDD. INSTALL CHAMELEON 2.0 RC3 OVER 10000000 TIMES.

When i start via DVD and set rd=disk1s2 (where my SL Installation is, everything works fine.
But trying to start direkt from HDD (with or without every parameter) it will stop with "still waiting for root device"

What can i do?

Just test to start with arch=i386 and..... it works!

Is it a bug or a feature????

This is probably not Chameleon's fault.

What make and model SATA controller is the hard drive connected to and are you sure that the kernel extension you are using for it is 64-bit capable?
