Title: Booting two XPs
Post by: crabhunter on December 12, 2010, 09:14:08 PM
I have managed to get Chameleon to boot XP by having a small partition for Chameleon on the same HD as XP.
I then thought I would push it a bit and try installing the 64bit XP as well.
I ended up being able to boot the 32bit which gave the the choice of 32bit or 64bit but if I chose 64bit it wouldn't load.
I then hid the 32bit partition and re-installed 64bit but now neither boot.
Has anyone managed to boot both 64 and 32bit XPs.

It's an interesting idea but it's very likely not related to Chameleon.

If you had your two Windows XPs on separate hard drives, I'm certain that Chameleon would boot both with no problems.

I think this is a problem or limitation with the Windows XP bootloader.

Yes I agree it's not a Chameleon problem although Chameleon cannot boot XP if it is on another drive.
My problem is when I install the second XP its boot info is put on the first XPs partition so that you can dual boot.
But that means the second XPs partition is missing its boot info so when Chameleon passes control to that partition there is no boot info.
