Title: Some help with installation
Post by: vampirnata on June 20, 2009, 08:34:23 PM
Hi

New forum member here. Before I begin I would like to thank all the VoodooLabs devs for all their excellent work! It's amazing to see this kind of generousity. To anyone who complains that something is not working, please remember these guys are doing this for free (donations aside) and show them the respect they deserve. Now to my questions.

Reading the installation instructions, I think I understand the steps involved but would greatly appreciate confirmation.

I have a working iPC installation currently and I want to make a new retail installation.

1) I boot into my working hackintosh system.
2) Downloaded Chameleon 2.0RC1, VoodooPS2Controller.pkg, DSMOS.kext, lan kext, audio kext.
3) Run disk utility. Create a new Mac partition on a new hard disk with GUID.
4) Install 10.5.6 retail Leo into this disk.
5) Install Chameleon and use the kexts above.
6) Boot into the new installation with -f
7) Hope like hell it works :)

Is that pretty much it?

Hardware:
Asus P5Q Pro Mobo
Geforce 9600GT
PS/2 Keyboard
USB Mouse

Any feedback would be much appreciated :)

Thanks!

Nevermind, got it up and running pretty much using the steps above.

Had to add the following to get it to boot though, I haven't experimented to see if I need all three.

AppleDecrypt.kext
Disabler.kext
dsmos.kext

AppleDecrypt and DSMOS.kext do the same thing, you don't need both.
