So, VoodooHDA "works" with my ALC892, but I'd really like to have the channels separated (so that I can make them into a multichannel aggregate device... i have 5.1 speakers) instead of all merged into one 'line out.'
I've attached a zip file with codec dumps, codec verbs, etc.. I followed a bunch of steps I found in a guide to gather the info, and then the guide just stopped dead.
It'd be great if someone with the skills could write me a modified info.plist .. I tried several times, but I get no sound and my device shows up as 'unknown.'
