I have been struggling to get sound out of my new laptop an ASUS V51NV with an ALC269 and an nVidia GT240M graphics card.. I have install ver 2.5.2 for Snow Leopard..
At present the speaker icon is displayed on the bar but its volume control is disabled, and in the available devices all I see are the HDMI outputs on the video card but none for the internal..
I have modded the info.plist to the specific internal chip ID and have also tried to add the HDMI section to the file as well. but still nothing.
I have the dump file but I am not sure what to add to the pinstomod section of the file which at present is empty.
Two minor things to not, the speaker pops when the kext is loaded and if I plug in headphones to the front jack I hear the internal mic .. So I am hoping this means it may work..
Any Help or guidance would be appreciated..
Abysmal

Hey sorry to bring this topic up again, I have an Acer Aspire 5745 and I require the ALC269 driver as well. I am currently using VoodooHDA kext but when I start my computer the system sounds work fine but as soon as I start playing an Mp3 file in iTunes the speakers start crackling about 5 seconds into the song and then I lose sound altogether. I have to fiddle with the sound settings in System Preferences to get my sound back. Could someone please send me a working kext for this? my e-mail is jared(at)iphoneblogr.com
Thanks in advance!

Hi all!
I got this card working with headphone, speaker and mic on 10.6.4 with a few simple steps:
download my files
1, backup your appleHDA.kext, just for safety.
2, remove VoodooHDA.kext
3, copy the AppleHDA.kext to your desktop
4, open it and go here: AppleHDA.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDAPlatformDriver.kext/Contents/
5, replace the info.plist with which I gave
6, install the AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler.kext to S/L/E manually or with a helper app (ie.: kext helper)
it is possible that you can put the HDAEnabler.kext in the Extras/Extensions folder
7, place the AsusK50IN.kext in your Extras/Extensions directory
8, maybe fix your permissions
9, reboot
It worked for me hope it works for you too! Have fun!
MODIFICATION:
ok, i was a bit stupid, I use these kexts with a different kind of laptop and i think the audio driver is for alc662. Sorry. Asus K70IO

Hi everyone !
I am running as well VoodooHDA 2.6.2 on Asus K50I (X5DIE) with MCP79/ALC269.
I had to insert these lines in my info.plist :
<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>
<string>0x0ac010de</string>
And sound is now working after hours of silence (or larsens too :lol no:)
