Hi everybody,
first of all, I'm sorry for my english... I'll try to explain my problem better than I can
however, my sound card is an integrated Alc662@nvidia mcp77/78 and it worked with voodoohda... after my bios update it works no more but i can't understand which is the problem.
i post here a part of my kernel.log, the part which "talks" about voodoohda... i hope it can be useful
there is a problem with codec #0... the sound card infact is detected, but the codec #0 causes some issues...
this is the part of kernel.log

i ask you which is the problem and if there is a solution
if you need some information, i'm here
thanks for the attention and for every answer

excuse me
no one can help me?
thanks for every answer

Hi.. have you tried VoodooHDA here? http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=355
-
thank you for your help
i've tried this one http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?s=eb5be45cb649effd81ce0909ab105597&act=attach&type=post&id=1494, i've installed it with kext helper and repaired permissions... but at startup it seems that this kext isn't loaded, so I haven't any error in verbose mode, but i also haven't any line that talks about voodoohda...
have you got any ideas about the problem?
thank you for your help
-
Well, i can't remember if these come with verbose enabled by default; look on the info.plist inside the kext for these lines:
<key>VoodooHDAVerboseLevel</key>
<integer>1</integer>
if the value is set to 1, verbose is enabled on the kext and you should see some output while booting.
The output is different from the one you're used to see with "old" VoodooHDA.
To confirm if the kext is really loaded, open Terminal after login and type:
kextstat
that will show you a list of loaded kexts; check if the kext is loaded or not.
-
the value is 1 so it's correct
but i cannot find voodoohda in kextstat, how i can make the "new" voodoohda loaded at startup?
thanks
p.s. have I to install the correct pref panel to have voodoohda working correctly or is it a secondary thing to do?
-
Sorry mate, but the pref pane will not work unless the driver loads and it seems it doesn't :(
I don't see any problem with the install procedure and also don't see any reason why the driver shouldn't work, except for the one you already mentioned, the BIOS update. Maybe you should consider reverting to your old BIOS!? My knowledge is very limited on this subject, but for what i have read some BIOS "updates" can do more harm than good. I say, if the update didn't gave you any benefit, revert it!
Anyway, you should get a second opinion :) ask around, on that topic i pointed, InsanelyMac, Google...
-
finally I solved the problem with the most obvious solution: the bios downgrade
i installed the old version for my motherboard (the one which i had when i bought the computer) and voodoohda started to work
fantastic
thank you for your help anyway

Nice :)
Stay safe...
