Alright, so I have been trying for weeks now to get my audio working on my OSX partition and I just can't get it. I'm pretty sure I need to use VoodooHDA because many other people with similar computers have used VHDA and it has worked just fine.
I am running 10.6.3 and I used the VoodooHDA 2.7.2 installer to install the kext. When my computer restarts I hear my speakers turn on(which never happened before) and the speakers make a loud, continuous, hissing noise, but the actual audio of the computer doesnt work.

(speakers turn on at 20 seconds)
I have uploaded a video where you can see my computer starting up and you can hear the speakers turn on to show you what I mean.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

That sounds very much like the Larsen Effect to me. Where the microphone is being routed into the speaker output but then again...

Hi.
I'm having the same issue.
In my case, when the driver loads, my microphone gain settings is set to max, wich is causing microphone feedback problem.
I booted with my headphones, and changed in the HDA pannel my microfone gain to none. Problem solved.
BUT, everytime I boot, I need to boot with my headphones, coz the gain is aways set to max when booting and returns to none (the way i set it) when logged into the SO.
Does anyone know how to change the kext so it loads with no gain to my microphone?
Tnks,
TC.
