Title: [Theme] Mavs - Simple & Light

Yet again inspired by minimal Apple design. This is a pretty flat and minimal stylized theme. It is very white!

Notes:

•It only works in white, I managed to get it even closer to the original design than any other theme I've done, making little to no aesthetic compromises. I simply took advantage of the straight white background. But because of this, it will look funky if you try to change it to something other than white =P.

•Early release, there are device icons left to do, but I'll do them as they are demanded =P.

•Alternates will naturally come. To do: icons that make use of an OS' logo, for a less stylized result.

•Let me know if anything is wrong. I've decided to keep it simple, fix things as needed, as you suggest them ;-).

Amazing work as usual, Enzo. You make the BEST Chameleon themes!

This is one of the best looking themes I have ever seen. Thanks. Also, I can't get this theme to fit my resolution, because the screen is stretched. Any ideas why?

Great work Enzo with attention to detail as always ;D

Thanks all =).

@ernestasen, is it only stretching this theme? It is likely that your graphics card doesn't support a native VESA resolution. Go to video info in Cham, see if it lists your monitor's native resolution. My card doesn't lol. I don't know if it's still the case that modern cards were trending away from that support. It can be added manually to your card's ROM, but that's a riskier method than I would like to attempt.

@Enzo. Yes, it stretches all themes. Maybe you have a version for cards that do not support VESA resolution?

@hoe1026, ah, missed that one. Here you go: http://cl.ly/SAdq

@ernestasen, I do not. Check out the resizing theme guide here in the forums ;-). Should be helpful.

Hello Enzo! I've been using your "LointoLion" Theme for 1/2 a year, now I updated to Mavericks and searched for a theme that aesthetically suits my update. You nailed again, I love your great sense of style and really appreciate your efforts. Thank you very much!

When I had the LogintoLion theme before upgrading to the Mavs theme, it would countdown about 5sec before it would auto login to my Mac HD. With this theme it doesn't seem to be doing that for me. Is there something that I didn't do or might have done wrong in the .plist? Great work by the way with this theme. Other than this little problem (probably a mistake on my end) it is an amazing theme overall.

@lemonlimetwist,

The countdown timer is set in the org.chameleon.Boot.plist, and it shouldn't matter which theme is being used. Weird.

I signed up on this site just to complement and thank you for your awesome themes.
Very thankful that you make such high quality themes, and they are pretty much complete AND free.
If I had money, I would certainly donate to you. Maybe I will in the future..

But thanks so much. Used LoginToLion and this looks great.
Is it possible you can make the icons for the device_fat, device_generic, device_hfsplus, and openbsd?

Would be great.. Thanks. Love your contribution.
Edit: Can you make it so the Windows icon is maybe a "W" instead?
Since I'm using Windows 8.1 and it shows a 7 it's a bit silly, but not a huge deal. I think if there is a W for Windows, then it'll be more universal and fit all Windows versions with this theme?
Or, you can add that OS detector on your previous theme so you can add an "8" icon to fit Windows 8/8.1 users. :)

@Quinquangular,

Thanks, appreciate the kind words =). Alternates are coming, as well as the device psd. There is an "8" icon in the Alternates folder already, iirc. There is no OS detection for NTFS devices unfortunately, image swapping is necessary for Windows.

Oh wow. Got so caught up and excited about the theme that I didn't even notice the alternatives.
Sounds awesome, thanks for telling.
Hopefully you can design a "W" icon so it matches the "X" icon, with the theme of using letters.

Sure, W's to come, and a logo set!

Sounds great man, thanks for everything.
I might change the apple logo to the "Boot Menu" alternative and see what I like best.
A lot of choices, lots of features, looks awesome.
I'll be sure to recommend this to people who are looking forward to making their bootloader look better. :D

Thank you Enzo. You were right, I messed up something in the org.chameleon.Boot.plist when I was playing around with boot options. Still pretty new to those kinds of tweaks. Thank you again for this theme.

Great work as usual, Enzo, but IMO all "Place holders" should be made, since Chameleon recognizes any of them.
Title: Re: [Theme] Mavs - Simple & Light
Post by: Enzo on November 20, 2013, 08:38:50 AM
The plan is to make them as needed/requested. If it's not requested, then it's not on my to-do list =P.

Alright then, may I request them? :D
Title: Re: [Theme] Mavs - Simple & Light
Post by: Enzo on November 20, 2013, 08:47:23 AM
Sure, all of them? =P
Perhaps you can suggest a prioritized order ;-).
Title: Re: [Theme] Mavs - Simple & Light
Post by: philip_petev on November 20, 2013, 09:15:05 AM
Prioritized order? I don't know. Maybe all OS X-related icons (inc. the RAID ones) first, then all Linux/BSD-related ones (I see the Linux icon is ready) and then anything else (BeFS and the generic icons inc. FAT).
BTW, did you saw this (http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,5926.0.html) already? Looks like your icons and the theme is a little more complete.
Title: Re: [Theme] Mavs - Simple & Light
Post by: Enzo on November 20, 2013, 09:17:35 AM
Yeah... that would be the typical order =P. I'll make some time for them soon then.

Yes I've seen that theme =).

Yeah, I simply need to look at the structure of Clover, then I'd be able to easily convert my themes. I'll have a look at it this week.

There is a update in clover, the secure boot option, can we see a update for this theme aswell? with that i mean a new icon for the secure boot option... Many thanks

I am using this theme in 1280x800x32. While the graphics looks ok, the text does not. When boot in verbose, the text looks to close together and the spacing between lines have big gaps. Anyway to remedy this?

BTW, Great theme!!

Title: love it, want to use it, but it is all warped on my screen
Post by: blindwarrior on December 21, 2013, 01:31:40 AM
Hi OP, new to custom themes here. I love your work! So good. But, the icons look flattened, like they're warped from the middle out. Is there any way to get everything to look right on a 1080p screen?

I saw your earlier comment about looking at your chameleon video info.. how do you do that? lol there is no documentation on that that I can find. Found it on this site after I registered. ?video <---

I noticed you have a theme.plist. I set all the resolutions in there (both of them) to 1080p. But it had no effect. I saw.. Enabled=No. What is that? I changed it to Yes, but, no effect on the warped look on your theme.

Using Chimera 2.2.1

EDIT: I found the video command. 1080p isn't listed. GT 640. So.. gg?

@blindwarrio,

Yep, GG, haha. You can resize the theme (squish it) so that when it stretches it, it at least looks right-ish. This is what most ppl would do. It's possible to modify your card's bios to add any desired vesa resolution. Google is your friend there.

I can whip some up I suppose. Probably this weekend. I'm not really using Chameleon any longer =(.

Maybe I'll whip up a Clover theme while I'm at it. As I'm not using one I like =P.

I really wanted to try this chameleon theme, but I'm using Yosemite. If you updated the icons that would be soooo awesome! Would it work with 2560x1440 resolution? Every time I try to do that resolution I get boot errors :'(
