Title: Chameleon 2.0-RC3 Infinite Reboot
Post by: txbigkahuna on September 16, 2009, 01:28:23 PM
I am trying to install Snow Leopard on a Dell D600 laptop which from everything I researched should work fine for hardware.  I have installed the latest version of RC3 on the USB with the Snow Leopard install.  It loads all the Darwin files and configs, but reboots as soon as it tries to start Darwin.  I have tried to follow all the troubleshooting and debugging.

com.apple.Boot.plist
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
   <key>Kernel</key>
   <string>mach_kernel</string>
   <key>Kernel Flags</key>
   <string></string>
   <key>Timeout</key>
   <string>5</string>
   <key>GUI</key>
    <string>n</string>
</dict>
</plist>

I have also attached the HFs Header info as previously requested in a similar thread

I think it's the same problem as here:

It may be the same problem, but in reading that thread it looked like they already had OSX installed and had time machine connected via USB.

I have a virgin HDD and the install is on a 16 GB USB with Chameleon 2-RC3.  In that thread they were mentioning rolling backwards to older versions, which I'm mot interested in doing.

When bootloader starts, Time Mashine is just normal partition, so there is no difference what do you have on it. For example, my USB drive was empty when I noticed a problem.
Read all the topic... I think it is better to write about this issue in one topic.

I reread the thread and the new post and will discuss it there.
